A Candle In The Window

Moar lights!! Yep. :) I admit it. I'm a sucker for Christmas songs. (I'll even listen to them in the middle of summer.) The title for this download comes from a song by Alabama by the same name. You can listen to the song here  I wanted a candle in the window for my game, so this is what I came up with:

Santa Baby Add-Ons

Mini versions of the snowman, reindeer and tree yard deco were suggested. Since there was already a mini santa and the meshes were just sitting on my desktop.. here are mini versions of those 3 meshes. The only difference between the yard versions and these is the reindeers. Those little signs were too small to fit their names on, so they're now known as 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 and 8- except for Rudolph, who is now known as "R". :D

Time To Decorate! 2012 Edition

Had enough Christmas stuff yet?!? I have, lol. Ah well.. once again, Christmas decorations for your sims houses. This time there are 4 new meshes: a santa, a snowman, a Christmas tree and reindeer. They're meant to be outside decorations for the yard, but they can certainly be used inside! Recolors are included (tree- 3, snowman- 3, santa- 4 and reindeer 8 so you can have the whole team!) as is a residential collection file. Hope you enjoy these and Happy Holidays!

Santa Babies

This is something I wanted to do back when I did the snowmen - believe it or not, I tried. For some reason my MilkShapeFu wouldn't let me shape the hat the way I wanted, lol. This year I decided to try again..

I'm not 100% happy with the texture but I thought he's cute enough to share. The red is the mesh and there are the 4 recolors. He can be found in Deco>Misc for 5 simoleons. CC in pics is by Simply Styling, Cassandre, Billy Jean and Oh Behave.

BPS Stocking Stuffer 2012

My gift to Black Pearl Sims for their Stocking Stuffers:

I'm going to link you there- my apologies ahead of time if you can't download. After the holidays I will put a download link here.
I've been thinking about this. You need to be registered at BPS to download. Not everyone wants to register at a forum they've never been to before. So- I'm adding the Box link to this now. These are a seasonal download and I'd like people to be able to use them now if they'd like them. :)

LUTH Part 1 - Addons

Semi-requested (maybe I should say hoped for?) at Mod The Sims: 2 tile door and window garlands. These are slaves of the fence garland so that mesh is needed for these to work in your game. Again: These are NOT low poly, so be careful of how many you use if you have a lower end computer.

Don't Sweat It!

Have your sims been exercising? Are they overheated and about ready to drop? Is the sweat puddling up and threatening to drown everyone in the neighborhood? Well, I've got the solution. A brand new window air conditioner courtesy of the folks at SimAire.

This air conditioner doesn't just sit in the window and look pretty. Your sims can actually cool off!

Morrocan Curtains - Edit, Add-Ons & Recolors

Another project bites the dust! :) I do have recolors of this curtain but my curtain addiction cried out for more. Plus, none of the colors I had quite matched the current house I'm working on, lol. If anyone knows of any more recolors, could you post a link?

Edit: The original, unedited curtain can be found here.  Remember, my recolors will work with this curtain but you will need my edit for the rod to be recolorable. The half-open slaves could probably be used with the original curtain. (I didn't change any filenames or the GUID.)

The edit: The original mesh has been smoothed because I noticed half the rod was colored oddly. The rod is also it's own recolorable subset now. I'd never tried the diagonal version out so I'm not sure if it worked properly before- when looking at it to clone it I noticed a few extra letters in one of the entries that shouldn't have been I corrected that.

The add-ons: 2 half open curtains. One for the left and one for the right. Both are slaved to the original curtain so you have to have that for these 2 to work in game. They might not reach the side on all windows, there might be a tiny little barely noticeable gap- but the original curtain is like that too.

The recolors: 20 random textures picked randomly from my textures folder. Some of them didn't turn out as well as I'd hoped- but none of them screamed "Delete me!" at me so you can have them all if you want them. No swatch, sorry. My PhotoShop is acting up on me tonight. The files are named by pattern and if some of them have strange names, blame the texture, lol. One of the textures is in there twice because I mirrored it to use it on both sides. NOTE: There is only 1 recolor of the rod and it's black.

All curtains have working diagonals. Hope you like these and can use them. And if anyone would like the .psd I made with shadowing, let me know and I'll post it.

Morrocan In Reverse

Why didn't anyone point this door from Exotic Elements out to me a long time ago? It's awesome! It's not a true door- it's decorative. But that doesn't take away from it's awesomeness.

I like to use decorative doors, like the sets HugeLunatic made. Since this door didn't have a handle on the other side, I set out to add one. Then I realized that might not work out quite the way I I moved the handle to the other side, made a new door and slaved it to the original. Then I did some recolors in my favorite Maxis woods. Since the mesh is white, there is no white recolor. Original mesh is included and is needed for my door to work in game!

It's Getting Hot in Here.. (DL Link Fixed)

I've had THIS water heater in my game for forever. Every time I've gotten a new computer I've always put this back in my downloads folder. There was only one thing that bothered me- it sticks through ceilings a tiny bit. So I fixed that. And while I was at it, I made it shiny and edited the texture a bit so the sticker didn't look so flat. If you want this edit, just let this file replace the original if you have it.

Please note: nikkibailey's policy at MTS states to not post her stuff on other sites. Normally I honor this- or ask permission. Since she hasn't logged in at MTS for over 3 years I'm making an exception to my own rule for this. If this bothers you, don't download- but don't hold it against me for sharing. :)

And yes, I know the pic doesn't show it NOT sticking through the ceiling anymore. Trust me- it doesn't. The pic DOES show the shiny though. I've been having way too much fun playing with PhotoShop actions lately.

Thanks to Ginnie for pointing out the incorrect link. That'll teach me to post when I need to be walking out the door soon and haven't even changed out of my jammies yet. :)

Window Mirror Recolors

6 Maxis Match recolors of Amaryll's window mirror.. because it's an awesome mirror and I couldn't find any recolors. Yes, my GoogleFu is pretty much fail in the best of times, but hey- have some recolors of a really neat mirror anyway! Mesh is included.

It's The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown!

Fresh from my pumpkin patch to yours- 4 pumpkin meshes. A bit late for Halloween, but pumpkins aren't just for Halloween anyway. :)

There are 3 single pumpkins and group of 5 pumpkins. The single pumpkins are slaved, Pumpkin One is the master. There are 3 recolors for both the single and the group. The polys are a bit on the high side with the single pumpkins being in the 600 to 800 range and the group is over 2,000. In my defense, they were a lot higher poly at first! I lowered them as much as I could without losing a lot of detail and making them all blocky. Pumpkins are round-ish dangit! And they have those little ribs...

Halloween Goodies Part 1

While looking for some Halloween pics to use, I saw this gorgeous blood moon wallpaper. I thought it would make a neat mural for our games. After I saw it in game, I decided to do some more. So here are 7 2-part murals on Pixelhate's 2-tile poster. (Which means that each mural takes up 4 tiles.)

Why use the poster mesh instead of making wallpaper? Honestly- I have a gazillion wallpapers, lol. Since these are on the poster mesh, there IS a slight line between the 2 parts. It's more noticeable on some.. hopefully you won't think it's too bad and like these as much as I do.

Halloween Goodies Pt 2

More goodies- recolors of my window film. These look best on the 1 tile film- both the long and the short AND while they look best (or- they look the way I meant them to) on long windows, they don't look half bad on shorter windows. Each recolor has 2 parts: one for the left and one for the right, since each one is actually half of a recolor. I've rambled long enough. Have some pics so you can see what I mean:

Nengi's Big Bougainvellia & Oleander Placement Edit

Just a small edit- Nengi's big bougainvellia (which I most likely spelled wrong) and big oleander edited to allow quarter tile placement.

I could've sworn this edit already existed but couldn't find it again.. if it did exist. Since I use these plants all the time- and the game plants & her huge plants can be placed with the cheat- I went ahead and edited them.

If you can't use "setquartertileplacement on" then these edits won't do you any good. If you can? Download them and stop using "boolprop snapobjectstogrid false" to place these outside of the tile! :) Bossy, aren't I?

I left the grid lines on to show that the plants aren't in the tiles. :)

Log Cabin - Residential Lot

This is the reason I expanded HugeLunatic's columns and beams- I wanted to build a log cabin that hopefully isn't like anyone else's. :) Since I've used meshes that weren't available for other lot builders.. well, you can decide for yourself if I succeeded or not. This lot is a new lot but it's pretty much the same as the lot you can see in my columns and beams download.. not much was changed.

If you want an unfurnished version of this lot, you can get it HERE.

1 bedroom (with room for more), 2 bath lot made with Nightlife, Open For Business, Seasons, Bon Voyage, Freetime, Apartment Life, Family Fun Stuff, Happy Holiday Stuff, Ikea, Kitchen & Bath Stuff and Mansion & Garden installed. Lot is 3x3 and costs 89,958. CFE, moveobjects on and setquartertileplacement on cheats were used while building and decorating. There IS cc included (a lot of it is my stuff) so be sure to check off what you don't need in Clean Installer before installing. :)

The Great Divide - Without Pets

Sometime back in April, Eva (eefje00704) extracted the Great Divide for me. I then promptly forgot about it. :( Well, now that I've remembered- here is the Great Divide for those without Pets. Since these are fences, each color is a separate package. You get Maxis Match woods in light, medium, dark, cherry, black and white. Metals will be be next. :)

These were cloned from a basegame fence with SimPE set up to load only basegame meshes. BUT you might need at least one EP to use them. (Please let me know if you have basegame only and can use them!)

Knock On Wood 1x1 - 11 Recolors

Before I get into the whole pictures and link to download, I would like to say that I thought these recolors (or at least some of them) already existed. Since I couldn't find any and really needed a pastel pink recolor, I did the pink myself. And since you can't have just one lonely, little recolor I did a few more. These only recolor the 1x1 shelf. I'm working on the 1x2. Because they have to match! :) You must have Apartment Life for these to show in your game because they're, well, Apartment Life recolors. If you don't like the colored brackets, this shelf has 2 subsets so you can still use the Maxis color for the brackets. That also means you can mix-n-match the colors.. green shelf with pink brackets anyone?

Columns & Beams UNredux'ed - Expansion of HugeLunatic's Columns & Beams

While working on a log cabin I realized that there no recolors of Huge Lunatic's Columns & Beams that matched the stairs I was using. (Jeka's modular log stairs at Mod The Sims..perfect for log cabins.) So I did a few recolors. Then I realized that HL's meshes didn't shift like I wanted so I set out to make ONE mesh that would shift. Then..well, things got a bit out of hand and I ended up making over 20 new meshes- all slaved to HL's master column (except the fences). There are more columns, more beams, fences, a gate and all-in-all I'm pleased with the end results. Counting the original set there are almost 30 meshes.. here are my additions:

Suza's Shabby Blocks MLC'ed

Yet another thing that's been in the old "quicky" folder. The recolors weren't done before today but the mesh and textures I wanted to use were in the folder. Honestly? I forgot all about them..until I was looking at some old posts elsewhere and saw recolors. The light bulb went off and PhotoShop was opened.

These were originally going to be the last thing I posted here until 'whenever'. Since things have changed, they're now a 'Yippee, I'm not going anywhere yet' kinda thing :)

Bah Humbug? Nah, Happy Happy Joy Joy!

This may be jumping the gun a bit, but just in case- if there are no more posts here after the 14th of this month that will be because I'm without internet access. I don't have any way to pay the past due amount and my internet provider is very, very prompt when it comes to disconnecting people. If that happens, it'll be harder to get it turned back on. Not only will there be a reconnect fee.. but they'll consider the contract terminated and probably tack on the termination fee too. :(

Like a lot of people everywhere I've had a rough year. Without going into super detail.. I had to grow up and take charge of things in my home life for my kids' sake and lost my job in the process. Home life has improved, my kids are safe and happy but anything I had saved is gone and a job hasn't been found. Things were quite crazy for awhile and being able to share the things I make and interact with the community  has helped keep my sanity. But all good things must come to an end whether we want them to or not.

So- if I up and "disappear" you'll know why. Hopefully it won't happen but if it does..hopefully I can get back sooner, rather than later.

All of the above crossed out since you're all stuck with me a bit longer! :) Thanks to the very generous and caring Sailfindragon, the bill will be paid tomorrow. I'm not a drama llama and normally would've just faded away and popped back up sooner or later. But I felt something should be said since I don't stick to other sites (MTS, Sailfinsims, BPS, GOS) anymore... someone might have noticed I was gone, lol. So- thanks again Debs my friend. Sanity saved.. creating and sharing continued.

Also- thank you Ginnie for the offer to put my files in a Yahoo Group. And..thanks for what else you were going to do, too. That was a very lovely thought and I really, really appreciate it.

TGGarden1 Door & Windows Revamped and An Add-On

Would you believe this was another project in my "Quicky" folder? Turned out to be not-so-quick. I originally set out to recolor these meshes because I couldn't find any recolors. The way they were mapped, however, left a very tiny spot on the texture for the actual door or window. Most of the texture was left for the doorknob and glass. So I decided to remap the whole set and while I was at it, I added an arch and slaved the windows and arch to the door.

Fruit!! (Recolors of Bowls of...)

There's a folder on my desktop called "Quickies". These recolors are from that folder. Both meshes are awesome- very clear and detailed. Since I wanted a couple more colors options you can have them too, if you'd like them. There are 2 recolors each of Holy Simoly's bowl of pears and bowl of lemons. The pear recolors are green Bartlett and red Bartlett. The lemon recolors are limes (since the shape is pretty similar) and Meyer lemons- which are more orange colored than "plain" lemons. Meshes are NOT included- if you don't have them you can get them from the link above!

WIP (Once again..)

I was playing around with arched niches and ended up with this:

That's the not-quite-finished version. Not much has changed, just a couple of little tweaks.  There are 2 more of them..both are a bit longer. There is also a shelf with an invisible recolor since I couldn't add a slot to the windows (which is what the niches are) for the life of me. :) Since these are really meant to be used outside there is only 1 slot.
That's  a more-finished version. :)

That's the most-finished version. Thanks to Buggybooz, I now know how to add slots to windows. So these have slots- no need for the shelf. Also- thanks to Leesester, I know how to stop window coming through a door/window. So these don't let light into a house. Since they're NOT windows I didn't see a reason for them to let light in. :)

A 2-tile version has been suggested. (Will have more than 1 slot.) (Might do one more 2-tile version- the longest one if it doesn't look like it's "too much".)
A Moorish or Gothic version has been suggested.
Diagonal versions should probably be done too, lol.
Narrow version suggested. (Might do more versions of that one.)

So: I'm asking anyone who might read this- can you think of anything else? I don't want this to be a humungous set but I'm willing to consider other versions/varieties/flavors. The screenshot really doesn't do these justice. They are absolutely gorgeous in game. (And I think they'd go with Buggybooz' set, too.)

I don't know if I regret the day I saw Orange Mitten's TS3 niches at Simlogical or not... and I won't soon forget when I saw that Buggybooz had uploaded niches. I was sure all my plans had just went down the drain. :)

Inset Wall Niches

Something a little different, inspired by a set for TS3 by Orange Mittens.

Cut-Outs! (In) Wall Shelving System ~ AddOns

Just a little thing I wanted to add to my Cut-Out Wall Shelves: a niche and narrow shelves.

Both pieces are slaved to the Master from the Cut-Outs! (In) Wall Shelving System so you need to have at least that file for these 2 to work in game.

Like the shelves from the system, there are 3 slots per shelf and no cheats are needed to place either the niche or the shelves.

Spiders, Rugs and Logs (Edit, Recolors & a New Mesh)

Mummysim's spider plant is an awesome plant mesh. I want to make that clear! Since I play with shadows on, the shadow did bother me a bit since it's so dark. So I lightened up the shadow a bit and made a couple of recolors of the plant and pot, too. The edited mesh is included with my recolors- if you want it, just let it replace Mummy's mesh if you have it.

Fresh & Airy Blankets

If you had trouble downloading these, the link has been fixed. :) 18 recolors of Jonesi's bed blanket. These have been sitting in my projects folder for so long...the name of the folder is Spring Blankets, lol. So I finished them up and here they are. They're not really Springy anymore, but they are still fresh, light and airy! :)

Perfectly Plywood - 2 Walls

I made these walls for a lot I was working on for a contest. The idea of the contest was that your sim moved into an apartment and was renovating it- or had renovated it? My memory is foggy and I can't quite remember, lol. Anyway, story of my life- my entry was just about done but I needed to go to sleep for a bit. When I woke up it was too late to submit my entry.

Anywho- here's the walls I made. They're supposed to look like unfinished plywood... the one looks a bit more like the real thing than the other. There are quite a few more things I made for that lot since I wanted the apartment to look like it was being renovated. Once I round everything up I'll post the rest.

Please note: These are NOT Mac-friendly since I left the size at 256x768 when saving the files. If anyone would like to edit them for their own use, feel free to do so. :)

Old Stuffs Revisited - Pt 1

Someone asked where I got some lamps that are in an old download. While hunting them down I realized that some of my old, old downloads aren't on my computer anymore and might be hard to find. So I downloaded some of my favorites and want to share some of them.

The first one: recolors of Pocci's DewDrop lamps. The meshes are at Garden Breeze - which is going to be closing at the end of this month. There are 4 lamps meshes and Pocci used the repository technique on them. The meshes are included with my recolors!

I haz a question: Before I post more of my older stuff, is there any interest in it? Most of it is recolors. There is a mesh or two AND some lots. The lots were built with: Open for Business, Nightlife, Seasons, Pets; Family Fun, Kitchen & Bath, Glamour Stuff and M & G installed. If more of this gets posted, it'll probably be on it's own tab at the top of the page. :)

Slots, Recolors & A Slave

Pikkon's Rough Draft Office has been in my downloads folder since she released it. There's only one thing that kept me from using the whole set - the lack of slots. If you know me at all, you know I love furniture with slots. So I've never really used the ladder from the set. Now that I'm working on a lot for a contest, I wanted to use that ladder.. which now has 9 slots added to it. The hourglass is where the orignal, existing slot is - I also moved that slot so it wasn't at the back edge of the shelf. If you already have this shelf in your game on a lot- you'll have to buy the shelf again to be able to use the slots.

While I had SimPE and MilkShape open, I also made some recolors for SimPlan-X's box of wallpaper from the Abandoned & Reclaimed set AND a separate slaved mesh of rolls of wallpaper laying on the floor.

Retro Kitchen Add-ons ~ 2 More Cabinets

RebaLynn mentioned at Leefish that she would've liked a shorter cabinet. Since I was working on redoing screenshots for MTS I made a shorter cabinet (it's about half the height of the original) and a taller cabinet (that will sit on top of the counter). They're both slaved to the counter, just like the rest of the kitchen.

Retro Meets Modern - Kitchen Meshes

Important: It's been reported that using dishwashers and trash compactors with the counter and saving will cause lots to crash when you load them again. I'm working on fixing that. For the time being I recommend using sinks and garbage cans instead.

So, it's done. The final set has 15 meshes and 18 recolors. Depending on which colors are used, the set can look retro or modern. :) Be sure to check out Lina's recolors!

WIP - Update

Just in case someone's actually waiting for this, it's just about done I think. The island still needs to be finished and I'm not sure about a chair.

Edited because the set is posted..with a different chair than I had posted. :)

Thursday, May 3, 2012

I said I'd make a non-slaved version of my table and chairs. Well, you can't have a table and chairs and nothing else that matches can you? (Actually, I can- you should see all my mismatched furniture irl..but I love it all!) At the moment I have a counter and upper cabinet.. forgive the unedited pic. :)

There is also a set of lamps that just happened to fit in with the look of the counters and a backsplash I made awhile ago. It just happens to fit in, too. So this will be a pretty big set.
Set is posted- without the lamps and the backsplash. Those might get posted eventually. :)

Kim's Table ~ Buggybooz Kitchen Basic Slaves

It's done! A table, 2 higher chairs and a sink. The table and chairs are slaved to Buggybooz Kitchen Basic, so you must have the master mesh(es?) from that set for the table and chairs to work in your game. The sink is a stand-alone, it's not slaved to anything. It's just the sink- nothing else and will place against a wall if you want to use it by itself.

The end result looks pretty much like the WIP pic I showed. The biggest difference is that this is a table, not an island and the sink is all by itself with no cabinet. Otherwise, put together the whole thing looks the same and was probably the best way to do this. :)

Saturday, April 21, 2012

WIP... ~finished~

One of the things I've been working on:

That's a strange looking sink, isn't it? The textures look might familiar too....

What it is is part of a little set of a sink and counter- they're slaved to Natalie's (Buggybooz) Kitchen Basic. They can be combined to make a round(ish) sink/counter/frankenstein that works as a sink on one side and a counter on the other. A round island was requested by Kim at Black Pearl Sims. There IS a working version already- but it is mainly for decorators. Since I like functional objects I wanted to see what I could do. The sink for this version is done..just got to whip the counters into shape. I can honestly say I learned a lot about sinks, expanding footprints, animations, routes and how it all affects the sims working on this. :)

edit: The final version is done! :) It might look a bit different, but when you put it all together it looks pretty much the same, lol. Confusing? Um..definitely. But you'll see when I come back!

Extracted Kitchen Deco

Extracted from the game files- the deco on the commercial stove, salt shaker, pepper grinder, spice shaker and cutting board. The stove deco is in 4 groups- I forgot to put one of them in the screenshot- that one is another version with the spices. (It's bigger and a bit different than the one pictured.) The salt/pepper/spiceshaker/cutting board is all one group- there are 2 subsets. Oh..and the stove deco is repositoried, the files are clearly marked.

The stove deco uses the original game texture- I edited it, hopefully it's not too blurry for anyone else. There are also 2 recolors for a bit of variety. (I couldn't get the stack of plates and the bowl to take any color and look good.) The other set uses Maxis textures for the mesh and the recolors so they're nothing fancy. It's all basegame compatible, can be found in Deco>Sculptures and is really cheap. I mean...I wouldn't pay 200 dollars for some spices, would you?

I know some (if not all) of it has been done before. I'm on a mission. I like cluttering but I don't like using a ton of OMSP's. Since I'd rather have clutter in groups, I grouped the clutter that I like. :) Mine can be used with any other extracted clutter you might already have.

I have some more I can share if anyone is interested!

It's Curtains, baby! A plethora of curtain recolors..

The theme at GOS this month is default replacements. Aquilegia defaulted some of the Maxis curtains - while I like them all (some of the Maxis textures really are awful), I really, really like that she defaulted the cafe curtains. I'd tried more than once to recolor that curtain and never liked the results. Plus- I really hate the original textures.

Now that I haz a replacement, I was wondering how my recoloring attempts would look now. This is the result- 26 various recolors. 10 of them are white with colored trim. Those were made using Aquilegia's texture as an overlay.

If you happen to have Leesester's shorter cafe edit, these will recolor that too. (If you don't have it, I've included the meshes.) I also did matching recolors of Nengi's simple kitchen curtain.

On to the pics:

Cut Outs! (In)Wall Shelving System

Inspired by Ogularama's wall shelf - a new shelving system for your sims. These are meant to go IN the wall like the shelf that inspired them. If you have Nightlife and Apartment Life, you can also have shelves on a half-wall. Each shelf has 3 slots for a total of 9 slots.

There are some important things to know about using this system. So be sure to read on if you want your sims to use this new system!

Simple Sunkissed Curtain Recolors

How simple are they? All I did was play with the hue in PhotoShop. :) If you know anything about me, you'll know that I can't resist curtain, plants and rugs. When I saw these sweet curtain conversions I knew I had to recolor them. The only problem with that is, being as non-awesome as I am, I couldn't figure out how to do that and keep the folds in the texture. Are my photoshop skillz really that bad? Yes they are. So I just played with the hue and liked the results enough to share. The converted set - however, the curtains aren't pictured. So here they are:

Chuck Norris Approves- MTS Style

I'm going to do this post a little bit different. Yesterday was Great Ideas Day at Mod The Sims. If you don't know what that's about- it's just MTS's way of playing an April Fool's Day joke. This year is was Celebrity Endorsement- and the joke was that Chuck Norris endorses Mod The Sims. The staff and featured creators are the ones who think up and plan everything- and get to make the content related to the joke. It was a lot of fun and I hope I can do it again next year. :)

I contributed 3 sets to the day. Instead of posting it all here, I'm going to link to the post at MTS. So if you want any of it- just clicky the link!

1st: Recolors of MysticRain's Earth Living Cushions-

2nd: Recolors of Jonesi's Bed Blanket-

Last: Chucky Bears! Recolors of the Maxis Teddy Bear-

I'm not really much of a Chuck Norris fan- but it was fun hunting down images for all the recolors I did. It was something different from what I usually do! That said- back to what I usually do, lol.
