Inspired by Ogularama's wall shelf - a new shelving system for your sims. These are meant to go IN the wall like the shelf that inspired them. If you have Nightlife and Apartment Life, you can also have shelves on a half-wall. Each shelf has 3 slots for a total of 9 slots.
There are some important things to know about using this system. So be sure to read on if you want your sims to use this new system!
1: The set is repository. The master is clearly named, as are the slaves. You have to have the master for the rest of the files to work.
2: The shelves are shiftable IF you have Apartment Life. Why are they shiftable?
3: If you can use half walls, there is one included. The shiftable shelves can be used with this half wall. So you can have a half wall of shelves in any room you'd like!
4: If you use the half wall and shelves- the shelves can be filled before or after they're placed. It's up to you. The important part is this- the shelves need to be clicked upwards 2 times to sit on the wall right.
5: There is a column that can be used at the end of the half wall if you'd like.
6: There are 3 shelves. 1 without any frame at all; 1 with a frame on the left; 1 with a frame on the right.
7: The frameless shelf can be used with the 1-tile (master) cut out; and with the half wall and column.
8: The shelves with a frame on one side are meant to be used with the wider cut out (slave). ((The frameless shelves won't work with that cut out- there will be a hole in the wall!)) These shelves can also be used with the half wall and column. Edit to add (because I'm obviously brain dead at times): You CAN use the frameless shelf with the wider cut-out IF you're making it wider than 2 tiles. You DO need a shelf with a frame on one side for the ENDS of the wider cut-out. So- L frame, frameless, R frame would be used for a 3 tile wall shelf. (This is because the wider cut-out has a frame on the top and bottom, but not the sides. So a shelf with a frame on one side is needed to fill the hole the cut-out makes in the wall.)
No cheats are needed to place any of the meshes. Sims can not walk through them either- so no worries about your sims walking through the walls. :)
The windows (cut outs) are found in Build>Windows.
The half wall is in Build under the walls. (It has a proper diagonal too.)
The shelves are in Surfaces>Shelves.
The column is in Decorative>Sculptures.
There are 24 recolors included. All recolors are named to make it easy to get rid of any you may not want. They're mostly Maxis and Lack woods. There are a few marble/stone ones, too. See swatch!
There is a Residential Collection File included in the rar. The half wall is not in it- you can't put objects without a GUID (Huh? Half walls have them!) in a collection...according to the Collection Creator. The wall DOES have a GUID that shouldn't conflict with any other downloads you have.
Note: I know you need at least Nightlife to be able to use the half wall. I'm not sure if you have to have Nightlife- the half wall might work with any EP higher than Nightlife.
Any questions- feel free to ask. :) Hope you enjoy this new set!
