Retro Meets Modern - Kitchen Meshes

Important: It's been reported that using dishwashers and trash compactors with the counter and saving will cause lots to crash when you load them again. I'm working on fixing that. For the time being I recommend using sinks and garbage cans instead.

So, it's done. The final set has 15 meshes and 18 recolors. Depending on which colors are used, the set can look retro or modern. :) Be sure to check out Lina's recolors!

Things to know:
This set is repository- the COUNTER is the MASTER for all the other meshes. Additionally, counter & island shadows are strange creatures and don't always behave as we humans would like them to. So- the counter wall shadows are slaved to the UPPER CABINET wall shadows. The CORNER ISLAND ground shadow is slaved to the CORNER ISLAND SHELF ground shadow. So if you don't have those 2 meshes, you'll get blinky shadows. Sorry about that, I really did try to get around slaving the shadows. After a week (ok, almost a week?) of wrangling them around and getting nowhere fast, I gave in and slaved those shadows.

There are 5 shelves- all have slots. The 3 lower shelves have 3 slots per shelf, the 2 upper shelves only 1 per shelf.

There are 2 trim pieces- some of the trim warped countertops. After more wrangling that part around, I gave in and made separate trim pieces. You'll need to use the trim pieces to fill in the spots that don't have trim- one is just for a counter with a sink (putting a sink in made the trim go bye-bye), the other is for the back of islands and counters (if you place counters away from the wall).

I think that's it. Hope you like this set! Recolors are definitely welcome. (What? 18 isn't enough?!?) A residential collection file is included with the meshes. :)

  4. Really Beautiful and great work, mustluvcatz. <3

Hope these are still available for when I decide to start using CC again. Right now it's too hard with making CC free houses for my own website (Calipip Sims).

Hmmmmm, maybe I could put the Sims on my old PC and use CC in that one... I'll seriously think about it (you've inspired me). :D

    Cheers,
    Lisa (Calipip4)

  7. I love it! I love the recolours and I love meshes, specially that corner with all those slots, it's pretty when you don't have to use OMPS for clutter. Thank you! :)

    1. You're welcome and thank YOU! :) Yeah, OMSPs are good- but slots are better. And since I know how to add them, they'll be added whenever it makes sense to. I didn't go overboard with the amount of slots, so there's probably room for deco on an OMSP too.

    1. Thank you, fishylordness. :) I hate doing recolors, if you can believe that. These recolors were actually done before the whole set was done. I got a bit of inspiration and just kept going. Amazing process sometimes.

    1. I can't say that I remember anyone's kitchen looking like this one. But when I looked for pics, this one seemed to fit into the retro category. :) What I DO remember- you wouldn't want me to recreate, believe me! My mom and her friends had some strange decorating ideas, lol. You're welcome and thank you!

  14. I absolutely LOVE this kitchen - and you know I'm crazy about slots. ;) (It's like you said above, OMSPs are good, but slots are better.) I wish there was a way I could transport this set out of the game, because I want it IRL! :D Great job!!
